The tests conducted for LTFE are not the same as the certification tests.  These tests are carried out to the point of oxygen completion to allow comparison of deployed units to new units.  However, if a nonconformance to 42 CFR Part 84 is identified on a unit, a CPIP is opened to address it.  Results of the LTFE are disseminated to mine operators, MSHA and SCSR manufacturers.
