The NPPTL Long Term Field Evaluation program evaluates the performance of randomly selected self-contained, self-rescuer units (SCSR) obtained from the field.  This program examines how well the units withstand the physically demanding mining environment and aging process.  Tests are conducted in the lab using the Automated Breathing and Metabolic Simulator.
