The goal of the CPIP program is to ensure quality control of NIOSH approved respirator units.   Investigations can be initiated based on issues reported internally, such as a lab failure; externally, such as a report from a stakeholder; or self-reported by the approval holder.  The approval holder conducts an investigation and develops corrective actions.  The corrective actions must address units in inventory, in the field and future production.
