For lower extremity arterial disease an initial increase in risk by A1months is seen up until 800 A1months. However, after that the relationship appears to disappear. Further statistical analyses did suggest that hemoglobin A1 is a predictor of LEAD in Type 1 diabetes in this EDC cohort.
