Wi-Fi Upgrade to Affect MyResNet Service Early on Oct. 18

Pitt Information Technology continues to work closely with their vendor partner, Apogee, to investigate reports from some students that their devices intermittently disconnect from MyResNet.

As part of its ongoing efforts to resolve service disruptions and optimize MyResNet performance, Pitt IT has scheduled network maintenance to upgrade Wi-Fi infrastructure in University residences on Sunday, Oct. 18.

Beginning at 3 a.m. early Sunday morning, MyResNet service will be unavailable for up to 90 minutes while maintenance is completed. We appreciate your understanding as we work to enhance service.

After the upgrade, it is important that users continue to report Wi-Fi service interruptions or performance issues to the 24/7 IT Help Desk at 412-624-HELP (4357). Doing so ensures support analysts can immediately investigate and begin work toward a resolution.

In addition to the upgrade this weekend, Pitt IT routinely responds to issues by conducting Wi-Fi site assessments, performing speed tests, and monitoring cases. Reporting any problems that you experience helps Pitt IT focus efforts on specific locations that may need attention.
