University Senate to Discuss Anti-Racism and Equity in Spring Plenary

The University Senate will hold its Spring Plenary on April 7 from noon until 2:30 p.m. Join to learn about progress at Pitt against the effects of systemic racism and toward equality. This year, the theme of the Spring Plenary is "Anti-racism and Equity."

Panel sessions will include discussions of University-wide efforts to increase diversity and equity, development of Pitt’s new Anti-Racism course and a review of specific findings of three of our University Senate Standing committees during the past year. Each panel session will be accompanied by a Q&A. Additionally, Chancellor Patrick Gallagher and Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor Ann E. Cudd will deliver remarks at the virtual event.

The Spring Plenary is an important event, and is the culmination of a year-long examination among our Senate Committees of the impacts of systemic racism and inequity on the Pitt community.
