Pitt faculty and staff are invited to the second annual Internal Funding Showcase: Fueling Our Future on Sept. 2, from 1–3 p.m., in the University Club, Ballrooms A and B. Hosted by the Offices of the Provost and the Senior Vice Chancellor for Research, this event is a celebration of the transformative research that’s being done across all disciplines and a way to help spread enthusiasm for interdisciplinary scholarship and teaching across campus, into the community and beyond.

“This year we encouraged a range of interdisciplinary theoretical and methodological approaches to address social injustices. The proposals were exceptionally innovative, creative, cross-disciplinary and boundary stretching — all the characteristics we are intent on nurturing among Pitt researchers,” said Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor Ann E. Cudd.

“The goal is to grow new ideas and initiatives that bridge the scholarship that’s done at the university to the broader world,” added Senior Vice Chancellor for Research Rob A. Rutenbar.

The showcase will honor the awardees of the 2021 Pitt Momentum Funds (PMF), Pitt Seed Grants and other internal funding. Chancellor Patrick Gallagher will open the event, followed by a panel discussion led by Cudd and Rutenbar. Guests will have an opportunity to speak with the awardees of PMF and Pitt Seed Grants and learn more about their engaging research at the poster session.

RSVP for the showcase online. Registration is limited due to room capacity, so reserve a spot today. Attendees are required to wear masks while inside the University Club.
