Attend a campus sit-down with one of Europe’s top leaders on trade

Curious about our neighbors across the Atlantic? An upcoming event holds a unique opportunity to learn about trade with the European Union from one of its leaders.

Pitt will host European Commission Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis this Thursday for a discussion with Pitt Graduate School of Public and International Affairs Associate Dean Erica Owen about transatlantic trade, technology and the relationship between the U.S. and the European Union. He will also be taking questions from students during the event.

The commissioner will be fresh off a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo as part of the EU-U.S. Technology and Trade Council meeting in Pittsburgh on Sept. 29.

The event, sponsored by Pitt’s European Studies Center, will take place on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 11 a.m. in the William Pitt Union Lower Lounge and will be broadcast live over Zoom.

Students, staff and faculty at the Pittsburgh campus with a valid Pitt ID can join the live event — masks required — and anyone else interested may attend virtually.

Register and learn how to submit a question on the Pitt Center for International Studies website.
