On Pitt Day of Giving (PDoG), join thousands of students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and friends as they share their Pitt story and give to the areas of the University they love most. And thanks to incentives and challenge funds, gifts of all sizes have the power to be transformational during the 24-hour event on Feb. 27.

Last year, 9,450 donors from 50 states, 35 countries and six continents gave $2.4 million to the University. These gifts allowed five campuses, 17 schools and colleges and many student organizations to fund priority projects, including relieving student debt, funding scholarships and launching innovative programs.

By making a gift on PDoG, you help to ensure a brighter future for Pitt students for years to come. Hear from Pitt units that raised thousands of dollars to support scholarships, research, athletics and other important initiatives last year in the video below.

Last year on PDoG, our community united to make a powerful statement, with alumni and friends demonstrating their pride and confidence in the University by giving back.

This year, we’re aiming bigger. You can help write the next chapter of Pitt’s story by making a gift and adding your photo to the 2024 Pitt Day of Giving Mosaic.

How to get involved

Campus community, make the most of your impact during Philanthropy Week, which begins Feb. 20 and runs through PDoG on Feb. 27. Don’t miss these events for students, faculty and staff:

Students, sign the PDoG banner, which will hang in the William Pitt Union (WPU) throughout Philanthropy Week, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Feb. 13 in the Towers Lobby.

Philanthropy Mini Fest is back from noon-2 p.m. Feb. 26 — Head to the WPU Ballroom for free food, activities, swag and chances to support your favorite participating organizations.

Ask questions, make a gift and pick up a free duffel bag at Faculty and Staff Stations across campus from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Feb. 27.

Prowl around the Pittsburgh campus for Find-A-Panther on Pitt Day of Giving. Find one of the alumni-sponsored keepsakes and you’ll get to choose any participating organization to receive $50.

Cheer on Pitt’s men’s basketball team against Clemson and earn prizes at the PDoG party. Activities start at 5:30 p.m. in the Alumni Hall Connelly Ballroom, and the Hot Bunz food truck will be outside on Tennyson. Plus, bring a nonperishable item for the Pitt Pantry to the party, and get a free pair of PDoG socks.

Get ready to sing at the C4C Karaoke Toast: Celebrate PDoG with the Center for Creativity, vintage karaoke and warm, crisp bread with an array of creative toppings. All Pitt students, faculty, and staff are welcome to come sing, eat and share the fun from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
