In honor of Veterans Day, the Office of Veterans Services (OVS) and other groups are hosting several upcoming events in Pittsburgh to celebrate veterans, the military community and their service.

Monday, Nov. 8

Yoga in Posvar Hall: The School of Education will hold two yoga sessions at noon and 3 p.m. These sessions are open to Pitt veterans, military dependents and current School of Education students. To RSVP, email veterans [at] pitt.edu.

Tuesday, Nov. 9

Pitt Military Community Appreciation Brunch in Ballroom B of the University Club: OVS will host a free meal from 10 a.m. to noon, open to Pitt veterans, active service members, ROTC and supporters of the Pitt Military affiliated community, including staff, students, faculty and alumni. This year's event will not have a defined speaker program, in order to focus on allowing community members to connect and network. Attendees must RSVP.

Thursday, Nov. 11

Veterans Pre-Pitt Football Game Happy Hour at Heinz Field: Join the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business MBA Veterans for a Pre-Pitt Football Game Happy Hour before the Pitt vs. North Carolina matchup. The cost is $25, which includes a game ticket. This event begins at 7:30 p.m. and is open to all Katz MBA students, Katz alumni and Pitt veterans.

Pitt Football Military Appreciation Day at Heinz Field: This nationally televised Veteran's Day meeting between the Panthers and the Tar Heels serves as Pitt's Military Appreciation Day. Pittsburgh’s military affiliated community will be recognized throughout the event by Pitt Athletics. A select number of free tickets are available through Vet Tix.
