As shared in a November 2021 reminder, the University-wide Closure and Class Cancellation Policy governs Pitt’s operations in circumstances including severe weather.

In the rare event of a University closure or class cancellation, faculty, staff and students will be alerted through the emergency notification service (ENS), which you can sign up here to receive ENS alerts.

The information will also be shared via pitt.edu, emergency.pitt.edu, University social media and local news outlets.

If at any time the University remains open and a student, faculty member or staff determines they cannot safely commute to campus due to weather or other circumstances, they should inform their instructors, dean or supervisor, respectively.
