Two ways to contribute to this year’s Pitt United Way Campaign

People pack drawstring bags that have a United Way logo

The University of Pittsburgh is aiming to raise more than $770,000 — 110% of last year’s total — for the United Way before April 30. The annual campaign’s success depends on the participation of students, faculty and staff across Pitt’s departments and campuses.

But there are more ways to give than through payroll deduction or vacation day donation.

Upcoming volunteer opportunities

Donate your time by working at the Pitt Shop at the Petersen Events Center during home basketball games; each two-hour shift will earn the campaign $35 for the campaign. Volunteers also get a free t-shirt and will be entered to win a prize at the end of the season.

Virtual bingo

Pitt will host four digital bingo games to raise money for the United Way campaign through March. Faculty, staff, students and retirees are welcome to register for all dates now:

  • Nov. 15, 1-2 p.m.
  • Jan. 23, 1-2 p.m.
  • March 5, 11 a.m.-noon
  • March 5, 1-2 p.m.

Cards are $5 each and there is a two-card maximum per day, though additional donations are appreciated. Winners will receive Pitt swag and be entered into a drawing for a grand prize.
