Submit your Nationality Room art by Oct. 17 to be featured later this month

The Indian Nationality Room mimics a university courtyard in Nalanda. The pillars are decorated with rosettes and fruit.

If you’re inspired by Pitt’s Nationality Rooms — whether you’re a painter, a draftsperson, a weaver, a poet, an ambient sound artist — here’s your chance to share that inspiration.

To mark International Artists Day and recognize artistic expression worldwide on Oct. 25, the Nationality Rooms and Intercultural Exchange Program and the Center for Creativity invite students, staff and faculty to use the Nationality and Heritage Rooms as springboards for creative expression — to see in them the positive energy and product of the universal urge to create.

Applicants can submit up to three artworks, either digitally or physically to the Center for Creativity, by the Oct. 17 deadline. On Oct. 25, participating artists are invited to attend a late afternoon tour of the Nationality Rooms to talk about their experience. The exhibition will remain up through that week.

See the submission form for guidelines.
