The School of Nursing’s DNP Nurse-Midwifery Program has been elevated to initial accreditation through February 2027.

It’s the first midwifery program in western Pennsylvania and the only DNP Midwifery program in Pennsylvania.

The School of Nursing made the decision to open a midwifery program in 2014-15, and it achieved pre-accreditation status by 2016 through the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education. In December, the program was re-evaluated before earning its full accreditation through 2027.

Four students have graduated from the DNP Midwifery program and received certification, and four students are currently enrolled in the program.
