Pitt Law won the National Tax Moot Court Competition

A team from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law won the 2024 National Tax Moot Court Competition.

Third-year students Dustin Foley, Luke Kastenhuber and Nina Wiramidjaja went undefeated throughout the two-day tournament. The team was coached by Associate Professor Alice Stewart along with alumni Toni Luchini (A&S ’14, LAW ’18) and Natalija Vignjevich (A&S ’17, LAW ’21). First-time coaches Luchini and Vignjevich threw themselves into the process, recruiting tax lawyers from around town and holding intensive practice arguments.

Just two years ago, Kastenhuber led a group of students in requesting that Pitt Law enter the annual competition, sponsored by the Florida Bar Tax Section and hosted by Stetson University College of Law. That request paid off, as he was named Best Oralist in the preliminary rounds and overall.
