University of Pittsburgh student Ashley Lynn Priore is featured in a new book, “The Epic Mentor Guide: Insider Advice for Girls Eyeing the Workforce from 180 Boss Women Who Know.”

Written by Illana Raia, the book answers questions from girls entering the workforce, including about diversity and inclusion, raising hands, speaking up and standing out. Priore described how chess strategies are useful in the work world.

She’s the founder of the Queen’s Gambit Chess Institute, a nonprofit organization that teaches chess — traditionally a male-dominated game — to people of all ages and backgrounds.
