The University of Pittsburgh diverted 3,900 pounds from landfills during Clean and Swap.

Faculty, staff and graduate students from 74 departments across Pitt donated their unwanted office and medical supplies. More than 140 people browsed and swapped among the dropped off items, which ranged from electronics to furniture.

The nearly two tons of recycled and resold materials topped the 3,155 pounds diverted during the 2022 event. More than 20 housing carts of supplies were also donated to local nonprofits Global Links and the Education Partnership.
