Anthony Grace, distinguished professor of neuroscience in Pitt’s Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, was elected to serve a four-year term on the board of the Schizophrenia International Research Society (SIRS). He will start April 5.

Also a professor of psychiatry and psychology, Grace’s lab work applies basic neuropharmacological approaches to the study of central dopaminergic systems, with the ultimate goal of determining how neurobiology correlates to mental disorders and the modes of action of psychotherapeutic drugs.

Grace joined the University faculty in 1985, two years after earning a PhD in pharmacology from the Yale University School of Medicine. He was recently awarded a continuation of his National Institutes of Health grant, for which he studies adolescent stress as a risk factor for major mental disorders.
