Three University of Pittsburgh alumni will serve on the new Governor’s Advisory Commission on Next Generation Engagement. Along with 18 other new members, they will serve as a liaison to Gov. Josh Shapiro, advising on the interests and needs of Pennsylvanian youth.

Ryan Yeager (CGS ’23) of Delaware County was sworn-in as chair of the commission on Aug. 5. Alex Hodge (A&S ’23) and Ashley Lynn Priore (A&S ’22), both of Allegheny County, each became commissioner.

The commission, established by Shapiro through an executive order, will gather information regarding the experiences and needs of Pennsylvanians ages 16-26 years old; review, evaluate and assess programs affecting them; provide Shapiro with recommendations on how best to meet their needs; and serve as a liaison from the governor’s office to the community, providing information about programs and services relevant to the commonwealth’s youth.
