WHO Mental Health Policy and Service Guidance Package.

The package is a series of 14 inter-related modules, which provides practical, step by step guidance to countries who want to improve their mental health systems.
The modules cover all essential components of mental health system development including how to develop a mental health policy and plan, how to organize services for mental health, how to implement quality improvement, develop and strengthen human resources for mental health, advocacy, and  information systems and so on.
The package also includes checklists for assessing the adequacy of existing mental health policies and plans, as well as policies and plans that are currently under development.
An additional summary module has also been produced called ‘Improving health systems and services for mental health’, which brings together in a briefer way all the modules of the package.
WHO has also developed the Report on Integrating mental health into primary care: a global perspective which provides the rationale and know-how on successfully integrating mental health into primary health care.
