Other examples of behavior changes necessary for smoking cessation:
  • Deep breathing.
  • Leave the situation.
  • Call your support "buddy", or the PA. Quite Line
  • Drink some water/hold a straw chew gum etc.
  • Remind yourself why you are doing this.
  • Ask yourself will a cigarette really make this situation better?"

Remind the participants they have been in control NOT the cigarettes.
