The NATA General Requirements for Registration (1992), based on ISO Guide 25, specified that management review shall occur at least once per year (clause 3.02.3). The corresponding clause in ISO Guide 25:1990 was 5.4.

For most organisations, a frequency of once per year is insufficient. With annual reviews:

  • (a) senior management may not keep fully abreast with what is happening in the quality management system;
  • (b) there may be insufficient follow up of decisions made during management review meetings.
