The corrective and preventive action process is initiated when a problem or a potential problem is identified.

The problem/improvement and the steps towards its resolution are managed and recorded on the Corrective Action Request (CAR) form.

During each step of the process the CAR is passed between the staff responsible for completing each task. After each stage the relevant section of the CAR is completed.

An example corrective action form is supplied at the end of this section.
