The other side of this though is it does speak to the issue that sigmoidoscopy only looks at that first portion of the colon, and we have a lot more of the colon at play. There’s going to be some people who have cancer at the end of the colon, and have nothing at the beginning. Therefore you would have no way of knowing that they are in trouble if you approach them with sigmoidoscopy.
