This slide shows how an N95 respirator is identified and marked in accordance to NIOSH requirements for the approval. These markings include:

- The Manufacturer's Name

- The NIOSH Logo

- The Filter designation

- The term "N95", is both the name of the type of respirator as well as the filter type designation. Other examples include P100, N100 ect.

- The Lot Number is not required, but strongly recommended

- The Model number is the name by which the product is advertised by the manufacturer

- The TC number is the NIOSH approval number designating an N95 respirator as an approved product in NIOSH records
