Myth: My workplace only has to provide one type of N95 and I have to use model of respirator that my workplace provides, regardless of the fit.

Fact: In most cases, companies try to purchase one main type of respirator due to the factor of cost. However, they must have an alternative available. Each respiratory program must require that employees are fit tested once a year and for every new respirator model used. If a respirator is a necessary part of the job and neither the primary nor alternative respirator model used pass the fit test for a user, an employer must find and provide a respirator that properly fits the user.
