Exposure to antibiotics is high in animals – during most of their lifespan - especially in countries, where antibiotic growth promoters (AGP) are used.

In Scandinavian countries, where policies are restricting antibiotic use, antibiotic usage in food animal production is more limited than in other countries such as the Netherlands and France.
