Traditionally “intellectual property” in the U.S. includes copyright, patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. [We also have a sui generis (special purpose) law for the “masks” used to produce computer chips.] We do not have artistic rights (also known as creative rights, rights of integrity, or moral rights) that are found in civil law countries.
