Based on that a lot of clinical trials were done and the magic dose of aspirin was eventually arrived at: the lowest one that would still reduce thromboxane without affecting prostacyclin. There were lots of trials done. It seemed like it was beneficial. There weren't in fact very many good studies, but a few good ones where it looked like there were results.
