The bottom line was that nobody benefited from therapy in this study. There was no reduction of preeclampsia, however sever; no change in transient blood pressure, another name for gestational hypertension; and interestingly, there was really no difference in blood pressure in this study, unlike any other study that had been done previous. So in this very elegant, very expensive, and very well-controlled study, there was no evidence of benefit of calcium supplementation.
