There's a long history of prophylaxis in preeclampsia. A lot of it is dietary, and you see it summarized here fairly extensively. Some people recommend restricting some things, some people recommend adding some things. Some people recommend restricting and adding the same thing. The bottom line is there was never anything that successfully prevented preeclampsia, as rational as therapy may have seemed based on the hypothesis that guided the treatment.
