This table lists the estimated number of influenza deaths in the USA in 2009 using the estimated influenza mortality rate (IMR) for past influenza pandemics and the estimated IMR for “seasonal” influenza (using either the WHO or CDC models) .  It is clear that the mortality impact of the 2009 “pandemic” was similar to a “mild” influenza season!
