We have to update our attitudes on overweight and obesity at all ages. The primary concern should be one of health and not appearance. Still, stating that beauty is health is harmless.

For example, 1/ Educate all expectant parents about the many benefits of breastfeeding. Breastfed infants may be less likely to become overweight as they grow older. 2/ Mothers who breastfeed may return to prepregnancy weights more quickly. 3/ Educate health care providers and health profession students in the prevention and treatment of overweight and obesity across the lifespan.

Adopt policies specifying that all foods and drinks available at school contribute toward eating patterns that are consistent with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

Provide more food options that are low in fat, calories and added sugars as in cake. Provide more fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat or nonfat dairy foods. Reduce access to fast foods high in fat, calories and added sugars and to huge portion sizes.
