The pathology of CDV in the CNS is similar to that of children with subsclerosing panencephalitis caused by measles and often fatal. T cells (lymphocytes) from the bloodstream carry the CDV into the CNS, crossing the blood-brain barrier. Measles vaccine is reviewed at http://www.pitt.edu/~super1/lecture/lec11551/index.htm.
