It is very difficult to persuade doctors in FSU to prescribe generic drugs. For significant number of doctors in the region more money (expensive drugs) means better quality. According to European Observatory on Health Care Systems' document "Health Care Systems in Transition: Armenia" (http://www.euro.who.int/document/e73698.pdf) some incentives are needed for this change to happen.
