List servers allow a large group of people to have
an ongoing communication. Each message sent to the
list is automatically forwarded to each member of the
group. The first list server for epidemiology was
established at the University of Montreal by Pierre
Philippe. Within a few years, information posted on
this list was reaching over 1300 subscribers in 41
countries. EPIWORLD is another listserver for epidemiologists
maintained at the University of South Carolina.
