In reality, many have described the Internet as being another
type of communications technology. We use the Internet to send messages
and data back and forth to friends and colleagues. The Internet is similar
to the telephone and the fax machine in this respect. However, other features
of the Internet have contributed to it's growing popularity. These
include it's low price, international reach, and the ability to provide
large amounts of material (data, software, papers, etc) online 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week.
