Constructing a homepage on the WWW requires the use of the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). Every homepage has to have this format and basic html commands so that browsers can read and interpret the information on the page. Homepages are stored on computers called web servers.

There are also commerical software programs that allow you to create a document in a word processing package and then export it as an HTML document. Other software packages can create and manage a web site.
