The breakthrough tool of the Internet, though, is the World
Wide Web (WWW). When someone talks about being on the Internet, they almost
always mean that they have used the web or have a homepage on the web.
The WWW is the fastest growing aspect of the Internet, and it's most
appealing. Homepages form the basis of the web. Each homepage combines
text with graphics, and links to other homepages. Thus, there is the "web"
effect for locating additional material related to the topic you are currently
reading.
