Confront of survey results to the literature.

First column corresponds to child health priorities as identified in the literature, in the second column their importance as a cause of child mortality ; the three other colomns correspond to the survey results: the research covered by the institutions, the fields of research where their results were implemented and finally their perception of neglected areas of research.

Focus on the example of respiratory diseases : it is a major cause of mortality in children in developing countries and only 1/5 of the institutions report a research activity in that field; an even lower number of institutions mention the implementation of their research results in that field (whether it be in terms of policies or interventions); and even fewer institutions underline the lack of investment in the field of infectious diseases.
