Speciation by hybrid recombination is impossible as all belong to the same species and cline. All hybrids are interfertile so that niche-superior hybrids with major mutations swamp out the others, including the elimination of the donor parents. A cline is a gradient or set of gradients morphologically and consitutes one species or race. A hybrid zone is the physical environment of that cline (Harrison, 1990).
