Current Plan/Goal:I am working on human-induced pluripotent stem cells (ips) derived neuronal cells and
also ips differentiation into various other neuronal progenitor cells. We are currently
working on candidate drug molecules to assess ips derived neuronal cell changes in
the context of HSV-1 infection. HSV-1 tends to reside in the trigeminal ganglia and
maintains a latent infection. As a future goal, I am interested to focus my studies on host
defense mechanisms such as Autophagy to clear the latent reservoir of virus.
