The classic treatment is streptomycin 15-20 mg/kg/day for 10 days.

Due to the inconvenience of intramuscular administration, especially in children, the drug of choice is rifampicin 10 mg/kg/day for 10-14 days, which has shown to diminish the time of healing lesions.
