We offer lectures on disaster because Nursing schools offer little training in disasters. The network members translate the lectures into many languages

Although nurses form the backbone of health care system, they are not trained to work under special circumstances such as disasters. Nursing schools provide little instructions on disasters or emergencies (Garfield & Al Ward, 2008); whether they were manmade or natural disasters. Additionally formal training in public health is also something that most nurses do not get. The Internet is instrumental in fulfilling this gap, especially if the platform uses low bandwidth connectivity as demonstrated at  http://www.pitt.edu/~super1/disasters/disastersnurse.htm
