Older adults, women and young people are identified as being at risk for inactivity. As people age they become less active regardless of gender, education and all other factors.  Women at every age group are less active than men.

Physical Activity levels among children are decreasing globally. This is particularly true among poor and urban areas. Less than 1/3 of the world’s children are not participating in adequate amounts of physical activity. This is concerning because physical activity affects health outcomes. Involvement in physical activity promotes health and decreases disease risk.

-Barriers involved with children: time, access to facilities, lack of motivation, lack of support and guidance, lack of self-efficacy, lack of education related to health benefits involved with physical activity.
