Rhazes wrote over 200 treatises on various medical specialties, with his most famous being a 20 volume encyclopedic work combining his own professional experiences with the medical wisdom from Greece, India, Rome and Persia.  His major research contribution was the ability to differentiate between smallpox and measles, which he produced in 910 AD.
