Waterproofing agents are used for similar reasons in both domestic and occupational applications.

On the one hand, the amount of product used in domestic application is usually small and the exposure time is limited. On the other hand, the exposure conditions may be poor (no ventilation, no protective equipment).

It must be pointed out that some occupational applications may be also performed in poor exposure conditions. This is for instance the case of field activities such as tiles waterproofing.
