A typical waterproofing agent is a liquid mixture containing a resin (i.e. a fluorinated polymer) dissolved into various solvents. Once the solvent evaporated, the resin forms a protective polymer layer.

It must be pointed out that the resin polymer is a generic product and may be used in various commercial mixtures.
