HISTORY

Program Description

To graduate with a baccalaureate degree in History, a student must complete the introductory sequence in the History of Western Civilization (HIST 0120 and 0130), seven other History courses (4 of them upper level courses), and a Senior Seminar (HIST 1002) involving a senior thesis. Courses in History of Religion (Religious Studies) may be taken outside the History major as electives, but do not apply toward the major requirements. Majors must also complete an appropriate methodology course from among the following options: Social Statistics (STAT 1020), Social Research (SOC 0300), or Level 3 & 4 of a foreign language.
