Trips:
Most
members of the club live for our wild n'crazy trips. We rent a twelve-passenger
university van (aka the History Bus) and take off for a week or weekend
of wild fun and laughs.
Spring
Break Trip:
Each
spring break the history club travels to a historical site (or sites)
not
possible to visit in just one weekend. These trips are unforgettable,
once
in a lifetime getaways. In
1999 the club will visit Civil War attractions
throughout
the state of Virginia (for less than $100 - inlcuding all but one meal!!!!).
In
1998 the club visited Charleston, South Carolina and Fort
Myers,
Florida. In 1997 the club visited Gettysburg.
Annual
trip to Washington, D.C.:
Each
year, usually in November, the club sponsors a one day
trip
to our nation's capital. The trip is open to both history club
members
and other students from the UPJ campus. Sudents are
can
explore any attraction within walking distance of the United
States
Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Fall
Trip:
Each
fall the club travels to a historical site. In 1998 the club visited
Philadelphia
for a weekend in late October. In 1997, the club visited
Harper's
Ferry in West Virginia. The club is tenatively planning to
visit
Annapolis, Maryland in the Fall of 1999.
